The Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste is the main church of Les Houches located in the heart of the town right across from the townhall and the little commercial center of Les Houches. The church was built in the baroque style around 1730 at the request of the local inhabitants tired of traveling to the church of Chamonix, especially in winter. The church was consecrated in 1766. A little niche at the center of the facade houses the statue of Saint John the Baptist with his parents Elisabeth and Zacherie on the left and right side. The church is part of the diocese of Annecy.
There is a little part on the side of the church with information signs giving information on most of the other churches and chapels around the Chamonix Valley. Its worth having a look if you are curious.
