The Oratoire des Bois is a small oratory, or shrine, located along the Chemin des Lanchettes in the heart of Les Bois. The Chamonix valley has many oratories and they are mostly located near cross roads and inside hamlets to provide protection and a small place of worship for the local inhabitats. The backdrop for the Oratoire des Bois is beautiful with the Rochers des Mottets and Les Drus.
